Tradition

  • The Ferias of Dax, Bayonne and Soustons, The Madonna’s village feast in Mont de Marsan. A tradition kept in the south west of France thanks to the local famous musical bandas.

  • The sardines fair in Messanges will give you the opportunity to taste sardines cooked in wood fires with music in the background of course. A must if you like singing and partying with locals.

  • The Courses Landaises (races with cows) : a wonderful and spectacular traditional acrobatic show on cows (with no harm done to the cows) to be seen by adults and children in the local arenas..

  • Basque pelota and men on stilts: enjoy a great show in Vieux Boucau, Soustons or Moliets (5 min away from our resort)

  • Soustons lake, right next to our resort  is one of the biggest lakes in France. Walks around it, paddle boat rentals, paddle boarding rentals, fishing…        Le Courant d’Huchet, called the Amazonia of the Landes : a natural reserve 8 km away.

  • Visit Hossegor, Seignosse, Capbreton… only 15 minutes away and Bayonne and Saint Jean de Luz 40 minutes away

  • Go for a day-trip to discover the surrounding basque villages, enjoy  a great viewpoint embarking on the little train of La Rhune, and don’t forget to cross the border and have some tapas in Spain.

  • The highest sand dune of Pyla in Europe at the entrance of Arcachon bay (1h15 north of Messanges)
